James (Jay) Glunt is a shareholder with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, practicing in its Labor and Employment Group. Jay's practice involves a wide variety of labor and employment issues arising from the employer-employee relationship. This includes counseling clients regarding litigation avoidance, restructurings and reductions in force, best practices for policies and procedures, hiring/firing decisions, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Jay regularly negotiates and drafts executive employment contracts and deals with issues relating to executive employment, compensation, termination, and severance.
- A significant portion of Jay's practice involves management of employment litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Such litigation sometimes involves defending a client's interests, and other times involves enforcing a client's rights. He is a frequent speaker at continuing education programs, and an annual co-author of the Pennsylvania Chapter of MLRC's "Survey of Employment Privacy Law."
- Jay is vice chair of the firm's working group on matters relating to e-discovery, and regularly advises clients regarding the pre-litigation duty to preserve electronically stored information.
- Jay obtained his bachelor of science degree in architecture from Penn State University in 1993, and his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 2000
