SPEAKER
David J. Penrod, ACE, CCE, CIS, is a computer forensic examiner and owner of Computer Forensic Labs, Inc. Mr. Penrod has conducted approximately 400 forensic investigations and examined thousands of electronic and optical data storage devices.
- Mr. Penrod has been deposed and has testified under oath as an expert witness in both state and federal court and before grand juries. He has been certified as an expert witness in the field of computer forensics and has provided opinions as well as evidence in court.
- David has authored several articles addressing computer forensics for Colorado Law Week and has provided Continuing Legal Education to both criminal and civil attorneys in San Diego, California; Denver, Colorado; Dallas, Texas; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
- Mr. Penrod is a former Senior Special Agent of the U.S. Customs Service, Office of Investigations, with 14 years criminal investigative experience. He is a graduate of the U.S. Treasury Department's Seized Computer Evidence Recovery School (SCERS). During the last six years of his employment, Mr. Penrod served as a certified U.S Customs Computer Investigative Specialist (CIS). In addition to conducting forensic exams for U.S. Customs, Mr. Penrod examined computer systems seized by special agents of the IRS, DEA, ATF, BLM, CID, and AFOSI.
