Jeffrey Winick is a member of Stein, Ray & Harris LLP where his practice is concentrated in construction law matters, including design defect-related actions, construction-related personal injury and construction-related breach of contract matters.
- Mr. Winick has successfully represented contractors and their sureties in multi-million dollar disputes that have required innovative legal theories and involved complicated facts.
- Mr. Winick's construction law practice has included counseling and litigation matters involving subrogation rights, wrongful termination, surety obligations, construction delays, design defects, contract interpretation issues, mechanics' lien rights, construction defects, bid protests, statute of limitations issues, causation issues, indemnification claims and bankruptcy.
Patrick O'Connor, Jr. is a construction litigation partner in the Minneapolis Office of Faegre & Benson, LLP. He has advised and represented numerous clients in construction contract negotiations, and has also represented sureties in connection with performance and payment bond claims, including takeover agreements and financing arrangements as well as subrogation and indemnification matters.
- Mr. O'Connor's particular areas of specialty include negotiating and drafting construction contracts, concession agreements, joint ventures, surety takeover agreements and related indemnity and security arrangements. He represents contractors, owners and suppliers in construction defect disputes as well as in delay, disruption, and other economic loss disputes.
- Mr. O'Connor is an adviser for the American Law Institute's Restatement on Suretyship and Guaranty, as well as Member of American Arbitration Association Construction Industry Panel. He is a co-author of Bruner & O'Connor on Construction Law, a 7 volume treatise published by Thomson West, as well as a fellow and former board member of the American College of Construction Lawyers.
