      D. Edward Wilson is an expert in public policy analysis regarding monetary issues, business, investment, and political activity. Mr. Wilson is a partner at Venable LLP in their Washington, D.C., office, and formerly served as Deputy and Acting General Counsel of the U.S. Treasury from 1985-88. He also served the Treasury as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management, represented the Treasury on interagency boards, and was a member of the Administrative Conference of the United States. Prior to Treasury, Mr. Wilson served as Associate Counsel to the President; General Counsel, Office of Administration, Executive Office of the President; and, Special Assistant to the President for Management. Mr. Wilson was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and the General Counsel's Award (United States Treasury) and the Chief Counsel's Award (Internal Revenue Service).

      • Mr. Wilson's practice includes cross-border business and financial transactions; anti-money laundering (AML) rules for traditional and non-traditional financial institutions; anti-corruption standards applicable in home, host and residence countries; nomination and confirmation issues in the U.S.; political activities by U.S. and non-U.S. persons in the U.S.; and policy and regulatory matters related to the U.S. Treasury, State and Commerce Departments, multilateral development banks, and international organizations.
      • Joseph Lynyak is a partner resident in both Venable's Los Angeles and D.C. offices and is a nationally recognized expert in financial services regulatory issues. Mr. Lynyak focuses his practice on the regulation and operation of financial service intermediaries, as well as the representation of foreign and domestic banks, savings associations, holding companies, mortgage banking companies and their subsidiaries and affiliates.
